For over 230 years Lodge Brothers have been handling the funeral arrangements for the local communities in which we are based. During all this time we have built up an enviable reputation for quality, based on a compassionate and highly professional approach to managing our clients requirements.

Six members of the family now manage Lodge Brothers, the seventh generation of the same family to run the Company.

Family Funerals Trust Limited is a company owned by Lodge Brothers (Funerals) Limited. It has been established to to co-ordinate and adminster Funeral Pre-Planning and Pre-Payment on behalf of our network of Funeral Directors. Our philosophy is that it is a privilege to serve the communities we work in. We offer an uplifting and welcome change. Privately run, our company has been managed by the same family through seven generations and we are proud to say we have brought sensitivity, understanding and personal attention to every funeral we handle.

We guarantee there will be no additional costs at the time of the funeral, to either the funeral plan or fees as specified in your plan paperwork, no matter how much funeral costs and fees may increase. However, if you were to move from the address stated in the plan, additional fees may apply. Unfortunately, some of these fees are out of our control. Alternatively, you would be entitled to a full refund less the membership fee. Free of financial anxiety your loved ones can concentrate on mourning your passing and celebrating your life.

We offer a full refund within the first 28 days of purchasing your plan so if you change your mind your money will be returned in full.

Additionally all of our Funeral Directors are available 24 hours a day, every day of the year, making it a service that works to your needs and time constraints.
  • Code of practice

The Funeral Planning Authority is the regulatory body set up by the Funeral Planning Council Limited and the National Association for Pre-Paid Funeral Plans to ensure high standards of professional conduct. Above all the FPA is there to safeguard money paid for pre-paid plans so that, when the time comes, a funeral is provided in accordance with the plan.

Family Funerals Trust is a founder member of the FPA and is dedicated to upholding its high standards.

Family Funerals Trust Limited was formed by Lodge Brothers Funeral Service, which itself is at the forefront of the funeral business with a legacy and a reputation recognised and much admired throughout the industry.

In December 2015, Lodge Brothers demonstrated their continued commitment to the Investors in People program by being awarded the Gold standard, which represents further recognition of the advances they have made and the development of staff within the company.

It is this legacy that is the strength behind Family Funerals Trust. A company that not only abides by the Code of Practice but is also continually striving to give its customers the best possible service.
  • Testimonials

We don’t expect our customers to write and tell us what they think of our service but so many of them do. We gain great satisfaction from knowing that we have helped so many people cope with their darkest days. Here are extracts from some of the more recent:

Very many thanks to you, for personally attending Vera’s funeral yesterday and to your excellent staff for carrying out such a professional job. At the time that she set out her wishes for her funeral, Vera knew exactly what she wanted: yesterday her wishes were achieved.

Dear Jackie, may I thank you for your kindness and attention during the whole period following *****’s death, from the first phone call (and the courtesy and professionalism of the gentlemen who collected ***** ) to the funeral itself and the many phone calls between and since, you have been everything that is supportive, sympathetic and helpful. I sorely needed it and I am very grateful.

My Brother and I just wanted to write and say a huge thank you for the way you handled our mother’s funeral on the 10th October. At a very difficult time we were impressed with the support, sympathy and the professionalism that encompassed everything from arranging the funeral down to the actual day and subsequent interment of ashes on Friday. In this day and age I find people are very quick to complain but not so to compliment on a service provided well. Would you please pass on our thanks also to the lady who provided tea and baby support during our visit to your premises, it was very nice of her. I have informed anyone who has asked about our arrangements, what a superb job that was done. Verbal recommendation can be quite effective! Many thanks again.

I would like to express the family’s thanks for all your assistance following Mothers recent death. What was extremely helpful to us and me in particular was the efficient and precise way in which all the necessary arrangements were made. The easy contact by phone and e-mail supported by the straight forward correspondence made what was a traumatic time much more bearable.
To all I spoke to, I can only thank for their courtesy and particularly to Heidi who has been my main point of contact throughout.

Nigel, firstly, just a little note to say “Thank you”, but it doesn’t seem enough, words don’t seem sufficient.
I was so impressed with your elegant fantastic gentlemen, and the very clean cars. So many people commented on how the service sheet at the service of thanksgiving was printed and presented. Even more, I was so delighted with Andrea on Tuesday morning, an exceptionally memorable day, we couldn’t have done it without you, your staff or Andrea.
Thank you for all your support.
